Three Purposes Of The National Benchmark Test: The NBTs were created to assess a writer’s ability to apply academic literacy, quantitative literacy, and mathematics knowledge to the demands of postsecondary coursework. The National Benchmark Examinations are made up of three multiple-choice tests, one of which is a combined Academic Literacy and Quantitative Literacy (AQL) test and the other is a distinct Mathematics test.
